Remote Closings
While there is much attention being paid to "RON" by the industry we want to make you aware of another way to close, via remotely using the application "Zoom".
The following is from First American regarding the use of "Zoom":
"You may use Zoom to facilitate the notarial act by audio-visual technology provided that (1) Zoom Pro, or higher-grade Zoom Plan is utilized, (2) the audio-video conference must be recorded and saved to the cloud, (3) if the notary is someone other than a First American employee, agent or title closer, the title closer must also be a party to the audio-video conference and confirm the identity of the signer via the audio-video conference, as if the closer was physically present with the signer at a sit-down closing, and (4) the person executing the document must provide a valid photo ID during the audio-video conference. The photo ID must be a form of identification that meets the Real ID Act, otherwise a second form of photo ID will be required".
Home has Zoom Pro capability, as well as the capability to record these audio-video conferences in the cloud. While we understand this is an adjustment, your Team @Home is here for you and your clients.
